COMMUNITY HOME BASED CARE AND SUPPORT FOR PEOPLE LIVING WITH HIV\/AIDS: <\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

In collaboration with Project Concerned International, India, Akimbo Society provides Community Home Based Care and support to People Living with HIV\/AIDS (PLHAs) in Dimapur town. The main objective of this project is to improve the quality of life of People Living with HIV\/AIDS and their family members. Under this project there are eight (8) staffs and in the last one and half year, the organization has been able to reach out over 454 PLHAs in Dimapur. The various services that we provided and achievement under this program are as follows;

1. <\/span>Free Medical Treatment for opportunistic infection <\/span>                          : 685 <\/span><\/p>\n

2. <\/span>Nutritional support for PLHAs <\/span>                                                               : 205 <\/p>\n

3. <\/span>Counselling service for the infected and the affected <\/span>                      : 199<\/p>\n

4. <\/span>Education on various issues related to HIV\/AIDS & STD <\/span>                : 3107<\/p>\n

5. <\/span>Empowerment of PLHAs through capacity building trainings <\/span>        : 56<\/p>\n

6. <\/span>Advocacy with stakeholders to reduce stigma & discrimination     : 50<\/p>\n

7. <\/span>Referral Services and <\/span>                                                                             : 115<\/p>\n

8. <\/span>Networking with NGOs and other institutions\/agencies <\/span>                  : 5 <\/p>\n
